A Bartlesville man charged with first degree manslaughter and leaving the scene of a fatality accident has a new court date.  38 year-old Kevin Myers Murphy was in front of a Washington County judge earlier this month and now has a September 8th court date.

Bond was set at 25 thousand dollars on Murphy in May.  He allegedly left the scene of a single-vehicle accident which resulted in the death of a woman.

According to a court affidavit, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol investigated an accident early on Mother's Day morning on County Road EW 2100 approximately .3 miles east of State Highway 123 in Washington County.  Troopers reported that they believe the vehicle Murphy was driving went off the road and hit a tree and then left the scene.  Several police agencies, including Washington County Sheriff Deputies, Bartlesville Police, Bartlesville Fire Department, and Bartlesville EMS were on the scene and found the dead body of a woman identified as Kelly Murphy.  Officers found Murphy a short distance from the accident scene.  They noticed some minor injuries and smelled a strong odor of alcohol.
