Whiskey Bent hosted the 3rd round of the Doenges KRIG Country Showdown Semi-Finals. Five of the 15 Semi-Finalists competed including Eric Aubrey, Celeste Drowatzky, Annie Hart, Suzzanne Marie, and Rusty Meyers. Rusty Meyers walked away as the winner of the competition wowing the crowd with his amazing performance of She Used to be Mine by Brooks & Dunn. Celeste Drowatzky won the runner up award and will replace Rusty Meyers in the Finale if he is unable to perform.
Rusty Meyers will be joining Cali Creek and Josie Zepeda at the Local Finale at Pawhuska's Cavalcade Street Dance on July 19. Three judges, Clint Ingram, Laura Birkett Fielder, and Rodney Lay evaluated each performance using a 10 point judging scale of five different categories. This system allowed the contestants to earn points on not only on their vocals but their marketability, stage performance, and overall talent. The Doenges KRIG Country Showdown is more than a local competition.
The winner at the Cavalcade Street Dance will advance to state at Big Jim’s Bike Rally on August 20th in Tahlequah, OK, with the potential for regional and national competition in Nashville including a TV appearance and a $100,000 prize package. For more details, go to krigcountryshowdown.com and continue to follow the Doenges KRIG Country Showdown on Facebook for pictures, videos, and information throughout the competition. Congratulations to Rusty Meyers for advancing on to the Doenges KRIG Country Showdown Local Finale.
