Motorcycle Accident Injures Teen Driver
Charlie Taraboletti
Driving at an unsafe speed led to an accident Sunday afternoon in Avant. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports a 15 year-old was driving his motorcycle eastbound on Third Street at a high rate of speed when he failed to negotiate a left-hand curve. The motorcycle went off the road to the right, rolled onto its left side and hit the ground. The vehicle then continued off the roadway separating the young man from the motorcycle which hit a stop sign and stopped.
The Skiatook EMS took the 15 year-old to an AirEvac helicopter and he was flown to Tulsa's St. John's Hospital and admitted there in stable condition with head and internal injuries.
