The newest member of the State Senate, who was a teacher at Owasso High School less than a month ago, said that he's learning quite a bit from Senator John Ford on the Education Committee. J.J. Dossett ran successfully for the Senate District 34 seat vacated by former Senator Rick Brinkley. Dossett said he did so because he's worried about the state of education in Oklahoma.

Dossett said he's “fired up” and really passionate about what he wants to accomplish. He filed one bill right after he was sworn in pertaining to education and hopes that it will get heard in committee. Dossett wants to meet with of his constituents and plans to hold short meetings at different establishments in his district. On Friday, he will be at Scoops and Grinds in Collinsville from 2 until 3 P.M.
