The Nowata School Board approved a bid for a lease purchase agreement for LED lighting from Oklahoma LED for $237,665.  The lease agreement is a seven year agreement to replace all the school district's lights.  As part of the financial agreement, the school district would pay $39,432 a year.  Nowata Schools Superintendent Leon Ashlock explained the financial plan.

The financial plan won't officially be signed until PSO comes in take a look at the district's lighting plan.  The district could get a $90,000 rebate from PSO.  Ashlock hopes that PSO can replace the lights during spring break.

In other action, the school board approved the school calendar for the 2016-2017 school year.  The board organization will remain the same with Rick Holland as President, Clint Hallett as Vice-President, Tom Kester remains as Clerk.
