Saturday wasn't a bad weather day, at least for February in Oklahoma. It also wasn't a bad day for Special Olympics and the Polar Plunge in Bartlesville. The numbers released by Derek Cain of Special Olympics Oklahoma show a total of $11,334.77. Mike Bouvier is very involved with the program. He said early in the week there were only 32 people signed up but close to 50 people showed up on Saturday to “take the plunge.”

The money raised supports Special Olympics in a number of ways, according to event chair Patrick Johnson.

The next Special Olympics event in Washington County takes place April 9. A track meet will be held at Dewey High School.
