This week at the meeting of the Osage County Board of County Commissioners, the Commissioners opened bids for oil and lubricants, road and bridge items, sand, concrete, and rock. The Commissioners also transferred numerous surplus items from the Department of Human Services to the inventories of several County offices.

However, the tone of the meeting changed when the commissioners got to an agenda item regarding repair work to the County Courthouse steps. Commissioner Scott Hilton recommend the repair.

The incident Commissioner Hilton is referring to occurred earlier this year, when a County employee fell down the Courthouse steps. The employee filed for workman's compensation through the County's third-party insurance and was denied. The Commissioners agreed that something must be done and will begin the bid process to get the steps repaired.

The next scheduled meeting of the Osage County Board of County Commissioners will be Monday, December 7, at 10am.
