Black Friday is being living up to past expectations in Bartlesville.  Manager at Cavender's Western Wear at the Washington Park Mall, Lee Davis says his store was open on Thanksgiving and sales were brisk.

The manager of another store at the mall says her business was not open Thursday but customers were ready to buy Friday morning.  Stage in the Eastland Shopping Center was open on Thursday as well.  Assistant Manager, Jolene Urban says customers were lined up at the cash registers.  Urban says sales Black Friday morning were good but not as pressured as the previous night.

Black Friday got its name because the date was traditionally the time of year when retailers paid all of their operating expenses for the year and all of the rest of the sales for the year would add up to the store's annual profit.
