Copan Man Threatens Mass Shooting at High School

A rural Copan man is in the Washington County Jail after being arrested on Monday for threatening a mass shooting at Copan Schools. Sheriff Rick Silver said that 23-year-old Kyle Benefiel admitted to sending an email to the City of Bartlesville's website saying he would shoot everyone at the school on Tuesday, November 24 at 9 A.M.

Silver said Copan Public School officials were notified though school is not ins session this week due to the holiday. The Sheriff said Benefial is scheduled for a bond hearing on Tuesday afternoon.
