Commissioners Appoint Committee to Appraise Courthouse

At this weeks meeting of the Osage County Board of County Commissioners, the commissioners announced the appointed members of the seven person committee to study the Osage County Courthouse/County Building issues, signed the territory increase for the Black Dog Fire District, and discussed progress of the new County Website.

 

Commissioner Scott Hilton announced the name of the seven members appointed to the new committee to study the Osage County Courthouse/County Building issues, specifically the committee will determine the feasibility of repairing the Osage County Courthouse versus building a new facility. The Commissioners appointed Judge John Kane, Mike Tolson, Mike Fischer, Cathy Ross, Jerry Loftis, Berry Keeler, and Undersheriff Lou Ann Brown. The committee will announce meeting times and provide the commissioners with status updates in the coming weeks.

 

The commissioners then approved the new operating area for the Black Down Fire District, which will take over a portion of the region previously covered by Osage Hills Volunteer Fire Department.

Commissioners Assistant Kandy Jump discussed the progress being made on the County's new website which will be OsageCountyOklahoma.com once the website is completed. Currently the website in awaiting more information from County offices.

 

The Commissioners also tabled an Executive session motion regarding the Kennedy Building in Pawhuska until next week .
