Three firefighters were taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure when a tank exploded during a fire at the Anchor Tulsa Rock Quarry on Monday. Fire crews from Limestone, along with crews from the Oklahoma National Guard, Owasso, Catoosa and other local districts, are all working together today to control the fire at the business in southeast Owasso on 66th Street North near 145th East Avenue. There are no traffic issues caused directly by the fire but the black plume of smoke is causing some driver distraction.

Crews report that the fire started early Monday morning in large tanks that reportedly contain oil based products. Newson6 reports that firefighters are in defensive mode because the fire is so hot. The goal is to keep the fire under control while what's in the tanks burns out. (Photo courtesy of Rogers County Emergency Management)
