Rumors were flying on social media that a Dewey Public Schools JV player was injured during a football game Monday night in Claremore. A DPS spokesperson said the player got his first helicopter ride as a precautionary measure after being injured. A doctor on scene and paramedics opted for the “better safe than sorry measures.”

The DPS spokesperson said the teen was released from the hospital after being checked out Monday night. He's reportedly sore but nothing was broken and the player should be fine after some rest.
