Diane Coston
The Ten Commandments monument that had been the subject of an on-going court battle between the state of Oklahoma and the state Supreme Court was removed quietly Monday night. The order for removal was handed down on September 11 with a 30 day deadline.
District Judge Thomas Prince had given state officials until October 12 to remove the 6-foot-tall granite monument.
The monument will be installed outside the Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs.
