The Oklahoma Department of Health has announced that 35 of Oklahoma's public water systems have received the Fluoridation Quality Award from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The Cities of Bartlesville, Pawhuska, Collinsville, and Sand Springs are among the 35 water systems awarded the honor. The Fluoridation Quality Award is given to water systems which maintain a consistent level of fluoride for at least 9 months. Fluoride is added into the water systems to help prevent tooth decay.
